Basketball Preview: Addenbrooke Classical Academy Mustangs vs. DSST: Green Valley Ranch Raptors

Addenbrooke Classical Academy is 3-0 against the Raptors since February of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Addenbrooke Classical Academy Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the DSST: Green Valley Ranch Raptors at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Addenbrooke Classical Academy has six straight victories, the Raptors have five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Addenbrooke Classical Academy put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 45-24 margin over Alameda.

Addenbrooke Classical Academy can attribute much of their success to Lucia Rodriguez, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds, and Reena Lanzen, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Rodriguez has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Angela Morton, who scored three points along with ten rebounds and two steals.

While DSST: Green Valley Ranch couldn't quite beat the Marauders on Monday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 28-point loss they were dealt on Saturday. DSST: Green Valley Ranch fell just short of the Marauders by a score of 31-28.

Addenbrooke Classical Academy pushed their record up to 10-4 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 36.6 points. As for DSST: Green Valley Ranch, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.

Everything came up roses for Addenbrooke Classical Academy against the Raptors in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 65-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Addenbrooke Classical Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
