Basketball Recap: Mason City Comes Up Short

Mason City and Waverly-Shell Rock squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Mason City had to settle for second. They took a hard 60-42 fall against the Waverly-Shell Rock Go-Hawks. While losing is never fun, the Mohawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while the Go-Hawks are ranked 20th).

Mason City's loss dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Waverly-Shell Rock, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-3.

As of now, neither Mason City nor Waverly-Shell Rock have any future games scheduled.
