After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Non Varsity Opponent, Jal was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They claimed a resounding 55-6 victory over the Van Horn Eagles at home. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Jal got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Daniel Ornelas out in front who threw for 252 yards and four touchdowns on only 16 passes, and also rushed for 90 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries. Ornelas also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing a fumble, making 14 total tackles, and making 14 total tackles. Andre Rodriguez was another key rusher, rushing for 194 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries.
