Baseball Game Preview: Mazama Vikings vs. Phoenix Pirates

The Mazama Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the Phoenix Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mazama will be strutting in after a victory while Phoenix will be coming in after a loss.

Mazama proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over Modoc.

The team relied heavily on Devyn Lobdell, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Jonny Ladner was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one run.

Meanwhile, Phoenix was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of Henley.

Phoenix's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Mazama, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.

Mazama came up short against Phoenix when the teams last played last Friday, falling 5-1. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
