Basketball Recap: Middletown Gets the Win

There's no place like home for Middletown, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They pulled ahead with a 58-57 photo finish over the Urbana Hawks on Friday. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hawks, too.

Despite the loss, Urbana still got an impressive performance from Mason Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Johnson a new career-high in steals (six). Sean Pyles was another key player, putting up 16 points and five boards.

Middletown's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-6. As for Urbana, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season.

Middletown has already played their next game (against Walkersville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Urbana will challenge Tuscarora at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tuscarora knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Urbana likes a good challenge.
