Recap: San Juan Spartans vs. Rio Vista Rams
Sadly, the San Juan Spartans are still looking for their first win of the season after 20 contests. They were beaten by Rio Vista 77-16 on Tuesday. San Juan has not had much luck with Rio Vista recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Ashlynd Rhett continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Rio Vista, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds. Rhett is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last 11 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Perkins, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds.
Rio Vista used a slightly different lineup for their bout with San Juan. And. Jesse Zucha made the most of the opportunity, scoring four points. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.
San Juan dropped their record down to 0-20 with that loss, which was their ninth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.2 points per game. As for Rio Vista, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.
