Softball Recap: De Kalb Continues Home Dominance on Monday

There's no place like home for De Kalb, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They never let the Liberty-Eylau Leopards get on the board and left with a 20-0 victory on Monday. Considering the Bears have won 14 matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Kaitlin Parks was a standout: she scored three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Mullins, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

De Kalb's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-4. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Liberty-Eylau, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

Coming up, De Kalb will square off against Atlanta at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Atlanta will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something De Kalb surely won't give up without a fight. As for Liberty-Eylau, they will face off against Queen City at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Queen City has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.81 runs per game on average), something Liberty-Eylau will no doubt try to take advantage of.
