Recap: Legacy Lightning vs. Poudre Impalas

The Legacy Lightning waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with nine straight wins but they left with ten. They really took it to Poudre for the full four quarters, racking up a 68-40 victory at home. That looming 68-40 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Legacy yet this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Legacy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brandon Domsch, who scored 15 points along with two steals and two blocks. Joey Delescinskis was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six steals.

When it comes to explaining why Poudre lost, one person who can't be blamed is Luke Foster. Despite the final result, he scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Foster has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Finn Hoffman, who scored nine points.

Legacy pushed their record up to 14-6 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.6 points per game. As for Poudre, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

Legacy will square off against Horizon at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Legacy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Tuesday. As for Poudre, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fort Collins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fort Collins has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,040 points over their last 14 matchups.
