MaxPreps host Chris Stonebraker headed out to Ohio for the latest on arguably the most intriguing prospect in high school basketball.

John Adams (Cleveland) sophomore center fielder Aaron Overby has set the Ohio record for stolen bases in a game according to stats submitted to MaxPreps and information on the Ohio High School Athletic Association website.

Overby stole 10 bases in a 22-10 win over East Tech (Cleveland) on May 1. The previous record for stolen bases in a game (eight) was set by Thomas Cooley of Genoa Area and Steve Schue of Brookfield (Sheffield) in 2000. As a team, John Adams swiped 48 bases against the Scarabs.

It was originally reported that Overby stole eight bases, but John Adams head coach Mykal Thomas said the number was actually 10.

"...the numbers are correct," Thomas confirmed via email.

Earlier this season Joey Torok of Kirtland and Jared Buckley of Tri-Village (New Madison) each stole seven bases in a game, making them the fifth and sixth players in state history to achieve that feat. Against East Tech, Overby's teammate - John Adams sophomore Brandon Huff - also stole seven bases.
