Basketball Recap: Washington Extends Winning Streak to Four

Washington entered their tilt with Lake on Saturday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They enjoyed a cozy 68-50 win over the Lake Blue Streaks. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Blue Streaks are ranked 306th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Washington's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from La Nia Moore, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Moore a new career-high in points. Delaney Pierce was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards.

Washington smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

Washington's record now sits at 14-2. As for Lake, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Washington will face off against Stow-Munroe Falls at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Washington has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Lake, they are taking a road trip to take on McKinley at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Lake is facing McKinley at the right time seeing as McKinley is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
