Football Recap: Kade Lawler's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Purvis over Sumrall + How To Watch

Purvis came into this matchup off a tough 33-point defeat last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Sumrall Bobcats by a score of 26-24 on Friday. The Tornadoes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Several Tornadoes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kade Lawler, who rushed for 47 yards and two TDs, and also threw for 167 yards while completing 78.6% of his passes. 87 of Lawler's passing yards were hauled in by Paxton Cooper.

This is the second loss in a row for Purvis and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Sumrall, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Purvis didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 23-21 win against Long Beach on the 19th. As for Sumrall, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 41-21 victory against West Marion on the 19th.
