Dover had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Smyrna on Tuesday. The Senators' pitchers stepped up to hand the Eagles a 9-0 shutout. The Senators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by seven runs or more this season.

Dover pushed their record up to 7-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Smyrna, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.
