Basketball Recap: Brennon Marlin's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Fayetteville over Ranburne

Fayetteville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They took a 50-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ranburne Bulldogs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 55-47 back in December of 2024.

Fayetteville's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brennon Marlin, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 11 points. Carter Goins was another key player, putting up seven points and three steals.

Fayetteville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Ranburne, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-16.

Fayetteville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 63-59 loss against Notasulga on the 27th. As for Ranburne, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 65-59 defeat against Vincent on the 27th.
