Downey entered their tilt with Paramount on Wednesday with six consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with seven. Everything went their way against the Paramount Pirates as they made off with a 10-1 win. That nine run margin sets a new team best for the Vikings this season.

Fabian Lopez was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Samuel Mojica was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Eddie Causley also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Downey hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in five consecutive games.

Downey's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Paramount, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.

Looking ahead, Downey will welcome Cerritos at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Paramount, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Firebaugh at 3:15 p.m.
