Softball Game Preview: Colony Knights vs. Palmer Moose

The Colony Knights will face off against the Palmer Moose at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Colony is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: Palmer, who was ranked 15th at the time (Colony was ranked fourth). The Knights blew past the Moose 19-2 on Monday. The Knights' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Alexis Congdon was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Gallagher, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Colony was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .643. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive matches.

Colony is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 18 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-8-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Palmer, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-6.
