Basketball Recap: Jacob Wilson Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Bladensburg

Parkdale won the last time they faced Bladensburg and things went their way on Friday too. The Parkdale Panthers came out on top against the Bladensburg Mustangs by a score of 59-49. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Parkdale's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Wilson, who went 6-for-11 to rack up 20 points and five rebounds. That's the most points Wilson has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Tavonte Martin, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 14 boards.

Parkdale's record now sits at 8-12. As for Bladensburg, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-16-1 record this season.

Parkdale and Bladensburg could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings. Parkdale (ranked 175th) will meet Flowers (ranked 32nd) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Parkdale is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Meanwhile, Bladensburg will challenge DuVal at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday down 162 places (241 vs. 79).
