Recap: Castle View Sabercats vs. Ponderosa Mustangs

The Castle View Sabercats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. The matchup between them and Ponderosa wasn't particularly close, with Castle View falling 62-45. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Castle View has scored all season.

Despite the loss, Castle View still got an impressive performance from Vitorio Dante, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. That was a full 51.1% of Castle View's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Larenzo Dixon was another key contributor, scoring six points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ponderosa to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carson Keach, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Keach has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times he's played. Another player making a difference was Noah Wilhelm, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals.

Castle View's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-6. As for Ponderosa, they pushed their record up to 12-4 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Castle View will take on the Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Douglas County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 682 points over their last ten games. As for Ponderosa, they will be playing at home against the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Allowing an average of 51.3 points per game, Highlands Ranch has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this matchup.
