Basketball Game Preview: Westview Wolverines vs. Omaha Northwest Huskies

The Westview Wolverines will face off against the Omaha Northwest Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Westview saw some tournament action on Monday. They lost to Omaha Central on the road by a 76-62 margin.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from EJ Swindle, who posted nine points in addition to six assists and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Reegon Hollingsworth, who put up ten points.

Meanwhile, Omaha Northwest came up short against Benson on Monday and fell 59-48. The loss put an end to the Huskies' undefeated start to the season.

Westview will have to contain Michael Dubose as he made an impact in Omaha Northwest's last game. He dropped a double-double with 22 points and 12 boards. Dawayne Kearney was another key player, putting up 13 points and seven rebounds.

Omaha Northwest dropped their record down to 2-1 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Westview, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Everything came up roses for Westview against Omaha Northwest when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the squad secured an 86-46 victory. In that contest, the Wolverines amassed a halftime lead of 42-21, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Wednesday.
