Basketball Game Preview: Waubay/Summit Mustangs vs. Britton-Hecla Braves

The Waubay/Summit Mustangs will square off against the Britton-Hecla Braves at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Waubay/Summit will be strutting in after a win while Britton-Hecla will be coming in after a defeat.

Waubay/Summit is headed into the contest having just posted their biggest victory since December 28, 2023 on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 59-29 win over Ortonville. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 94th in South Dakota, while the Trojans are ranked 387th in Minnesota), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Britton-Hecla had to suffer through a 61-34 loss at the hands of Wilmot. The Braves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The victory got Waubay/Summit back to even at 5-5. As for Britton-Hecla, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

Waubay/Summit and Britton-Hecla were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but Waubay/Summit came up empty-handed after a 62-61 defeat.
