While Mercer put up plenty of  runs on Wednesday, the same  can't be said for Reynolds. The Mustangs were the clear victors by  a  15-0 margin over the Raiders. Considering the Mustangs have won four games by more than six  runs this season, Wednesday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Angelina Eakman was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. She  struck out six batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with one  home run, four  RBI,  and two  runs.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Emma Stoepfel, who  got on base  in all four of her plate appearances with three  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI.  Bella Beers was another key player,  going 1-for-3 with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and two  RBI.
Mercer has  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Reynolds, they dropped their record down to 3-13 with the  loss, which was their third straight  on the road.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mercer will square off against DuBois Central Catholic at 4:15  p.m.  on Friday. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average (the Mustangs 4, the Cardinals 3.4) so any  runs scored will be well earned. As for Reynolds, they will challenge Union at 4:15  p.m.  on Thursday.
