Baseball Recap: Paraclete Takes a Loss

Paraclete was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the La Salle Lancers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, with their most recent loss being a 6-3 defeat last Tuesday.

Paraclete saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Antonio Longobardi, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Jakob Pieters also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Paraclete's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for La Salle, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Paraclete will take on Castaic at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for La Salle, they will challenge Serra at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (La Salle 4.1, Serra 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
