Knott County Central and Perry County Central are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2015, but not for long. The Knott County Central Patriots will head out on the road to take on the Perry County Central Commodores at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kentucky (Knott County Central is ranked 53rd, while Perry County Central is ranked 58th).
After a string of four wins, Knott County Central's good fortune finally ran out on Sunday. They took a 55-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hazard.
Meanwhile, Perry County Central entered their tilt with Wolfe County with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Perry County Central walked away with an 83-72 victory over Wolfe County on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Knott County Central's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-4. As for Perry County Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.
Knott County Central couldn't quite finish off Perry County Central in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 and fell 60-57. Can Knott County Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
