Volleyball Recap: Campo Verde Falls Short Against Ranked Notre Dame Prep

Campo Verde faced Notre Dame Prep in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Coyotes came up short against the Saints, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Coyotes in their meetings with the Saints: they've now lost five in a row.

While Campo Verde ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-21, 25-20.

Despite the defeat, Campo Verde saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kendal Kellar had ten digs and two assists. Kellar has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times she's played.

Campo Verde's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Notre Dame Prep, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-2.

Looking ahead, Campo Verde is taking a road trip to challenge Mountain Pointe at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Notre Dame Prep, they will challenge Xavier College Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
