Football Recap: Lee Central Comes Up Short

After flying high against Burke last Friday, Lee Central came back down to earth. The Stallions took a blow against the Chesterfield Golden Rams on Friday, falling 55-28. The Stallions have struggled against the Golden Rams recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chesterfield to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bryce Adams, who threw for 211 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 46 yards and a pair of scores. Those 46 rushing yards gave Adams a new career-high. Another back making a difference was Greg Rushing, who rushed for 155 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 8.2 yards per carry.

Lee Central now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Chesterfield, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-1.

Coming up, Lee Central will face off against Hannah-Pamplico at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Chesterfield, they will take on C.A. Johnson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
