Baseball Recap: Creighton Prep Takes a Loss

Creighton Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 7-4 to the Elkhorn South Storm. The Junior Jays were not able to make up for their defeat to the Storm from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Creighton Prep got a good showing from Quinn Peterson, who tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Jack Cosgrove and Logan Burchfiel did some serious damage despite the final result: Cosgrove scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Burchfiel scored a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Cal Anthony, who scored a run while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Creighton Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Elkhorn South, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Creighton Prep is set to face off against their familiar foe Millard West at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Elkhorn South will challenge rival Bellevue West at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
