Football Game Preview: St. Thomas Aquinas Trojans vs. Sayreville Bombers

The St. Thomas Aquinas Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Sayreville Bombers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

St. Thomas Aquinas came up short against St. Joseph on Friday, falling 41-19. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while the Falcons are ranked 20th).

Meanwhile, Sayreville was beaten by Montgomery 43-15 on Friday. The matchup marked the Bombers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Sayreville fell to 7-1. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

St. Thomas Aquinas strolled past Sayreville when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a score of 36-18. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
