Recap: Frankton Eagles vs. Yorktown Tigers
If the Frankton Eagles were feeling good off their 82-34 takedown of the Madison-Grant Argylls last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Frankton was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 47-46 to Yorktown. If Frankton hoped to take revenge for the 43-35 loss against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Yorktown's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Addy Barnes, who scored 14 points along with two steals. Lilly Sylvester was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds.
Frankton's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Yorktown, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Frankton will square off against Blackford at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Blackford focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday. As for Yorktown, they will head out on the road to square off against New Castle at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. New Castle is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
