Football Recap: East Newton Takes a Loss

East Newton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Nevada Tigers 41-7. The Patriots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 20-0.

Caden Youngblood threw for 114 yards on ten of 22 attempts. Virgil Rosiere was his top target, picking up 61 receiving yards. On the ground, River Enlow rushed for 64 yards and one score.

East Newton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Nevada, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Coming up, East Newton will face off against Monett at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots will need to watch out since the Cubs have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Nevada, they will welcome Lamar at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
