Baseball Recap: Holy Cross Takes a Loss

Holy Cross fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Dunmore on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bucks by a score of 5-4. The Crusaders just can't catch a break and have now endured six defeats in a row.

Josh Lentowski led a balanced group of hitters, earning two runs and two stolen bases. AJ Piestrak also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Holy Cross' loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Dunmore, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holy Cross will square off against Lakeland at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Dunmore, they will take on Honesdale at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.27 runs per game on average), something the Bucks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
