Baseball Recap: Central Christian Comes Up Short

Central Christian lost against Hearts Academy last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Central Christian took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hearts Academy.

Nick DiCicco was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tucker Handley, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

DiCicco wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Central Christian lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Central Christian's loss dropped their record down to 5-5-1. As for Hearts Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Central Christian and Hearts Academy should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. Central Christian (ranked 228th) will meet Covington Academy (ranked 468th) at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Hearts Academy will square off against Praise Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday up 209 places (171 vs. 380).
