Softball Recap: Raymond/South Bend Beats Pe Ell/Willapa Valley for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Raymond/South Bend hadn't done well against Pe Ell/Willapa Valley recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Ravens came out on top against Pe Ell/Willapa Valley by a score of 18-14. The victory was familiar territory for the Ravens, who have now won four matches in a row.

Maddy San made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off six hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Emma Glazier was incredible, firing off two home runs, four runs, and five RBI while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Koski Kassie was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Raymond/South Bend's record now sits at 17-4. As for Pe Ell/Willapa Valley, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 12-1 and their overall record down to 18-5.

Raymond/South Bend does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pe Ell/Willapa Valley, they will face off against Colfax at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Pe Ell/Willapa Valley's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
