Baseball Recap: Pike County Extends Winning Streak to Three

Pike County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They never let the Bullock County Hornets get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bulldogs also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2025.

Daniel Collins was a major factor no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Pike County is 2-1 when Collins posts three or more hits, but 5-14 otherwise.

In other batting news, Pike County got a massive performance out of Jayden Ousley, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three runs gave Ousley a new career-high. Jakori Green was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Pike County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .593. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Pike County's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 7-15. As for Bullock County, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-16.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Pike County will head out to square off against Pleasant Home at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bullock County, they will square off against Ashford at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. The Hornets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Yellowjackets have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
