Recap: Monterey Wildcats vs. Trousdale County Yellowjackets
The Monterey Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 59-48 to Trousdale County. Monterey was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Trousdale County apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Monterey lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mekkiah Henry, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds. Jaxen Stephens was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
Monterey bumped their record down to 1-8 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points per game. As for Trousdale County, their victory ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monterey will be home for the holidays to greet Midway at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Midway is ranked 378th, while Monterey is ranked 391st). Trousdale County will be home for the holidays to greet Jackson County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
