Preview: West Broward Bobcats vs. Flanagan Falcons

The West Broward Bobcats will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Flanagan Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on October 20th. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

West Broward started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Gulf Coast. They fell just short of the Sharks by a score of 21-19. Despite 192 more yards than Gulf Coast, West Broward couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Despite their loss, West Broward saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jonathan Morillo, who threw for 306 yards and three touchdowns, was perhaps the best of all. Jonathan Lawson also helped out as he racked up 144 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Flanagan came up short against Everglades two weeks ago and fell 33-23.

Flanagan's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Amir Collings, who rushed for 19 yards and a touchdown, and Franklyn Johnson jr who picked up 87 receiving yards and a touchdown.

West Broward's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Flanagan, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4-1.

Everything came up roses for West Broward against Flanagan in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 33-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Broward since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
