Volleyball Recap: Timpanogos Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Timpanogos can now relate to. They lost 3-0 to the Orem Tigers on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Timberwolves in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost six in a row.

Cooper Pope paced Timpanogos' offense, picking up 18 kills. Pope got some help from Zaxen Downey and his 32 assists. Pope was also a major player on defense: he and he shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with three each.

Orem found their leader in freshman Kaio Akana, who had 21 assists. Those 21 assists set a new season-high mark for Akana.

Timpanogos' defeat dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Orem, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 26-6.

As of now, neither Timpanogos nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
