Soccer Game Preview: Glendale vs. Washington

The Glendale Cardinals will square off against the Washington Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Glendale headed into their last contest having not scored more than one goal for three straight, but Cortez let them put that streak behind them. Glendale's defense stepped up to hand Cortez an 8-0 shutout on Thursday. Mia Espinoza was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Washington entered their tilt with Alhambra on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Lions 6-1. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won three games by five goals or more so far this season.

Washington's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Glendale, they moved to 2-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Everything went Glendale's way against Washington in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as Glendale made off with a 5-0 victory. Will Glendale repeat their success, or does Washington have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
