Volleyball Game Preview: Clairemont Chieftains vs. Santa Ynez Pirates

The Clairemont Chieftains will head out on the road to square off against the Santa Ynez Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Clairemont comes in on five and Santa Ynez on six.

Clairemont is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They skirted past Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences 3-2.

Clairemont took Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-17, 19-25, 22-25, 17-15.

Meanwhile, Santa Ynez made easy work of El Toro on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 win.

One reason for the win was Santa Ynez's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-18, 25-17.

Santa Ynez's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-3. As for Clairemont, their win bumped their record up to 27-10.
