Basketball Recap: Gunnison Valley Comes Up Short

Gunnison Valley played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 56-17 loss at the hands of the Duchesne Eagles. The game marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Maile Ha'o was Gunnison Valley's leading scorer, having posted five points. Rylee Bartholomew held things down on the boards with five rebounds.

Duchesne got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Chezney Farnsworth out in front who went 5-for-7 to rack up 14 points. What's more, Farnsworth also posted a 71% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in February of 2024. Kira Grant was another key player, putting up 13 points and three steals.

Gunnison Valley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 13-9 record this season. As for Duchesne, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a massive bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Gunnison Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-23 defeat against North Summit on the 6th. As for Duchesne, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 34-26 win against North Sevier on the 6th.
