Basketball Game Preview: Rocky Mountain Grizzlies vs. Hot Springs County Bobcats

The Rocky Mountain Grizzlies will take on the Hot Springs County Bobcats at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Rocky Mountain is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games.

Last Saturday, Rocky Mountain didn't have too much trouble with Shoshoni as they won 41-23.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rocky Mountain to victory, but perhaps none more so than Shelby Wambeke, who posted six points. Wambeke also posted a block, marking her first of the season. Lauren Bassett was another key player, putting up ten points.

Rocky Mountain smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in ten consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Hot Springs County faced off against Wind River on Thursday. Hot Springs County blew past Wind River 59-36. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 23 points or more this season.

Rocky Mountain pushed their record up to 15-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.2 points over those games. As for Hot Springs County, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Rocky Mountain beat Hot Springs County 50-40 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rocky Mountain since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
