Basketball Recap: Oregon School for the Deaf Panthers vs. Washington School for the Deaf Terriers

Oregon School for the Deaf was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 20th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Washington School for the Deaf Terriers, falling 52-20. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 76-49 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Washington School for the Deaf found their leader in sophomore Nathan Yerkes, who went 10 of 18 en route to 22 points and eight steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Yerkes has scored at least a third of Washington School for the Deaf's points. The team also got some help courtesy of La'Juan Malone, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 assists and nine steals.

Washington School for the Deaf moved to 3-3 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Oregon School for the Deaf will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Livingstone Adventist Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. As for Washington School for the Deaf, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 48-23 loss against Three Rivers Christian on the 9th.
