Baseball Recap: Lake Norman Wins Going Away Against Cox Mill

Lake Norman barely beat Cox Mill the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Chargers with a sharp 8-1 victory on Monday. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 6-5 victory on April 9th.

Austin Lockamy tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Noah Jacobsen, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Andres Acurero was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Lake Norman's record now sits at 16-9. As for Cox Mill, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-16.

Lake Norman wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 10-8 loss against Hickory Ridge on the 29th. Cox Mill does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
