Football Game Preview: Beebe Badgers vs. Searcy Lions

The Beebe Badgers will square off against the Searcy Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

As a matter of fact, Beebe put up the most points they have all season on Friday. Everything went their way against Watson Chapel as they made off with a 45-22 victory. The Badgers haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Curtis Goodrich was his usual excellent self, rushing for 164 yards and one score while picking up 8.2 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 127 rushing yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Beebe was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 243 rushing yards. They are a perfect 5-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Beebe didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Demarco Moore, Kameron Johnson, and Layne Clark picked up one apiece.

Meanwhile, Searcy earned a 47-40 victory over Maumelle on Friday.

Beebe better keep an eye on Jackson Smith. He was instrumental in Searcy's win, picking up 148 receiving yards and one touchdown. Smith was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 69 yards.

Searcy's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Beebe, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
