Basketball Recap: Penelope Falls Short of Bynum in the Playoffs

Penelope and Bynum squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Penelope had to settle for second. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 43-25 to the Bynum Bulldogs, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, with their most recent defeat being a 31-15 loss back in December of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bynum to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaedyn Degner, who posted 15 points along with five assists and five boards. Another player making a difference was Madi Westmoreland, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten rebounds.

Penelope now has a losing record at 11-12. As for Bynum, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.

Penelope does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bynum, they will challenge Huckabay on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Huckabay sitting on six straight wins and Bynum on seven.
