Football Recap: Aquinas Institute Starts Season with Victory Against Varsity Opponent

Aquinas Institute gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 40-13 win over Varsity Opponent.

Jeff Logan went supernova, rushing for 305 yards and five scores while picking up 13.9 yards per carry. Those five rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high.

Aquinas Institute didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Darion Barclay and C.J. Flaherty.

Coming up, Aquinas Institute will be playing in front of their home fans against Fairport at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Little Irish's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Varsity Opponent, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 80-32 loss against Coventry Christian on the 6th.
