The Twin Lakes Indians will take on the Western Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Twin Lakes sitting on three straight wins and Western on ten.
On Friday, Twin Lakes was able to grind out a solid victory over Lafayette Jefferson, taking the game 7-4.
Myley Spriggs spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits.
At the plate, Twin Lakes let Morgan Rodziewicz and Miya Clerget run wild. Rodziewicz went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double, while Clerget got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs. Leah Shrock was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Western made sure to put some runs up on the board against Oak Hill on Wednesday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Golden Eagles with a sharp 13-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 14 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Emma Roe was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Roe was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Brynley Erb was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. She has been hot, having posted at least one home run the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jocelyn Jeffers, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Western's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Twin Lakes, their victory bumped their record up to 12-17.
Twin Lakes might still be hurting after the 16-0 loss they got from Western in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
