Recap: Smith Center Redmen vs. Russell Broncos
The Smith Center Redmen lost against the Russell Broncos back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Smith Center fell 50-40 to Russell. Smith Center has struggled against Russell recently, as their contest on Monday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Smith Center's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daveyon Orr, who scored 9 points along with 6 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Overmiller, who scored 8 points.
Smith Center's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Russell, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Smith Center is on the road again on Thursday and play against Plainville at 5:00 p.m. on December 7th. As for Russell, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Ellsworth at 8:00 p.m.
