Baseball Recap: Mannford Takes a Loss

Mannford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Perkins-Tryon Demons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Demons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 last Monday.

Colton Wofford was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Kayden Leslie also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Mannford's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Perkins-Tryon, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mannford will head out to take on Glenpool at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Perkins-Tryon, they will venture away from home to square off against Chisholm at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
