Softball Game Preview: Waunakee Warriors vs. Tomahawk Hatchets

The Waunakee Warriors will venture away from home to take on the Tomahawk Hatchets at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Waunakee will be strutting in after a win while Tomahawk will be coming in after a loss.

Waunakee had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Fort Atkinson on Friday. The Warriors never let the Blackhawks get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The Warriors not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since May 1, 2024 (when they won 18-7).

Audra Ubersox was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. That stolen base was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryla Ripp, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Waunakee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Tomahawk fell victim to Antigo and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 8-0 to the Red Robins. The Hatchets haven't had much luck with the Red Robins recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Tomahawk now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Waunakee, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.
