Softball Recap: Westview Gets the Win

While Westview's win against Lakewood Park Christian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Panthers 11-9. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Westview let Ava Gilbert and Myra Miller run wild. Gilbert got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Miller got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run was Gilbert's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Briana Kaufman, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Westview lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Westview picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 5-3. As for Lakewood Park Christian, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Westview didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-3 win against Lakeland on the 29th. As for Lakewood Park Christian, they have also already played their next contest, a 24-3 loss against Fort Wayne Snider on the 28th.
