Springfield took a 41-point loss the last time they faced off against Archbishop Hannan, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bulldogs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hawks on Thursday, sneaking past 44-41. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Bulldogs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Hawks are ranked 40th).

The win got Springfield back to even at 10-10. As for Archbishop Hannan, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-12.
